The global sugar market offers a wide range of options to meet diverse needs and quality standards. Below are the main types of sugar intended for export, along with their characteristics and applications:
Demerara Sugar
A less processed sugar with larger granules and a golden hue, demerara retains part of the nutrients from sugarcane. With a mild molasses flavor, it is widely used in culinary preparations and beverages, appealing to consumers seeking more natural options.
ICUMSA 45 Sugar
Known as the most refined sugar, ICUMSA 45 is a pure white sugar with a high level of refinement and a low impurity index. It is extensively used in the food and beverage industry due to its high solubility and crystalline appearance. Its classification follows the international ICUMSA standard (International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis).
White Crystal Sugar
A white sugar with larger crystals than refined sugar but still highly pure. It is widely used in industrial and domestic processes, especially in baking and confectionery.
Organic Sugar
Produced without the use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or refining processes involving artificial additives, organic sugar has a growing appeal in the global market, particularly among consumers seeking sustainable and healthier products.
VHP Sugar (Very High Polarization)
A raw sugar with a polarization level exceeding 99.4%. It is often exported to international refineries for conversion into refined sugar, thanks to its versatility and logistical efficiency.
VVHP Sugar (Very Very High Polarization)
Similar to VHP but with an even higher purity level, exceeding 99.8%. This type of sugar is especially valued by refineries that require top-quality raw materials for producing premium sugars.
